Whole Packs

We have a Whole Packs App which is an A to Z list of items which are supplied in packs considered by PSD to be Whole Packs.

Endorsing Guidance

When you supply these products remember that PSD will only pay you in whole pack quantities.

The following rules apply when endorsing prescription for Whole Packs:

1. If the quantity prescribed coincides with a whole pack (or packs):

  • In the absence of an endorsement PSD will pay for the smallest pack or number of packs to cover the quantity
  • If the product is available in more than one pack size, you may endorse and be paid for the pack size dispensed

2. If the quantity prescribed does not coincide with a Whole Pack:

  • For a quantity of less than one pack then supply to the nearest whole pack. If there is more than one pack size and you wish to supply a large pack you must endorse the pack size supplied
  • For a quantity of more than one pack there is a ‘pack and a half’ rule.

    i.e

If the quantity prescribed is equivalent to less than a pack and a half (or less than 2 and a half packs etc.) In the Absence of an Endorsement PSD will pay to the nearest whole pack below the quantity prescribed.

If the quantity prescribed is exactly a pack and a half (or 2 and a half packs etc.) In the Absence of an Endorsement PSD will round up and pay to the nearest whole pack above the quantity prescribed.

If the quantity prescribed is equivalent to more than a pack and a half (or more than 2 and a half packs etc.) In the Absence of an Endorsement PSD will pay to the nearest whole pack above the quantity prescribed.

You may always endorse to the nearest whole pack to cover the quantity prescribed. Alternatively you may endorse that you have given a whole pack quantity less than the quantity prescribed.
