On Monday morning we received an email to tell us the exciting news that we are Finalists in the Overall Best Association (Over 1,000 Members) category at the 2018 Association Excellence Awards!

Last year we won the Best Member Communication award. This was a huge achievement for us and it gave us confidence that we were following the right path of improving the services and support that we provide to our members.

At CPS, we always want to go that one step further…

With a real buzz and a feeling of momentum within the organisation after winning the award, we challenged ourselves to go that extra mile to deliver additional support to members which will ultimately help to benefit the wellbeing of the population in Scotland. We’ve worked extremely hard to build on our communications and make improvements internally so that we can truly embrace our brand values.

So, what have we been working on?

Our Board, Council and Executive Team recognise that times are changing and our whole profession needs to be ahead of the curve to ensure our survival. Over the past year, we have spent countless hours together crafting our Vision for the future of community pharmacy in Scotland. It has helped us to shape our work this year and will continue to do so.

The team, led by the executive have begun weaving this Vision into everything we do – seeking to realise the strategy that our members have signed up to so that we can strengthen our network’s position whilst simultaneously delivering improved patient care and relieving pressure on a strained NHS.

We have been working on many new projects which we’ve used to form part of our evidence for our Awards submission.

Some of these key projects/areas of work include:

  • Service development
  • Research and development
  • Complaints and Duty of Candour
  • QI - Electronic Claim System
  • User Groups
  • FMD
  • GDPR Support
  • Shortages Notification Email System
  • Communications Survey
  • Monthly eCharts

Winning this award would recognise the many activities, overall achievements and collective professionalism of our organisation and will cement our continuing drive to be better than before. We hope that you agree that our efforts in helping you be the best that you can be are worthy of this award but we won't just rest there, we are always welcoming of any suggestions of how we might improve the services that we provide to you.

This isn't just about CPS - this is the perfect opportunity for us to showcase the vital work that you do every day to deliver excellent care to the people of Scotland.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for 12th October when we attend the awards ceremony in London!
