Adjusted Prices Notifications

In recent years, the number of product shortages has increased for several reasons. We liaise regularly with the Scottish Government and National Services Scotland using information from contractors where lines are not available to purchase at the drug tariff price. As the supply chain is UK wide, our information is only part of the picture, other sources of information such as the Department of Health, wholesalers, secondary care and manufacturers are all referenced in these discussions.  Our role is to support contractors and to ensure adjusted prices can be agreed where possible.

We know how important these adjusted prices are to you and we would like to thank you for all your reports on items even more so since December when the revised Shortage Reporter App went live, allowing us to make a more robust communication with SG.  I’d also like to take the opportunity to encourage you to keep reporting these lines.

As part of an improvement to the Adjusted Prices process, we have created a notification sign up form.  Once you have signed up, we will send out an email alerting you when there is a change to a current adjusted price or a new adjusted price has been granted. The email will also include what the changes are.  Don’t worry, you will only receive information on adjusted prices and shortages!

We have also made some changes to our website pages where the Adjusted Prices and Shortages Information is held.  Both pages are continually updated as and when we receive the information as is our Part 7 App.

We are delighted to say that you can now sign up with our shortages notifications and the first update will be sent out on the 1st of September. We will keep you all up to date on what I hope you agree is a good way to share information on these price changes.
