Professor Harry McQuillan

Chief Executive Officer (Executive Team Member)

Awarded B.Sc (Hons) in Pharmacy from Heriot-Watt University in 1988 and completed a post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy (community) at Queens University Belfast October 2002. From July '88 to November '03 Harry undertook a wide variety of roles for Boots The Chemists Ltd.  He has also chaired Health Board committees and served as a member of the RPSGB Scottish Executive. In November 2003 he was appointed National Pharmacy Advisor to NHS 24. There he worked closely with the SEHD and  contractors to lead and introduce the "Urgent Supply of Repeat Medicines through Community Pharmacy" initiative.

Harry was subsequently appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of the Scottish Pharmaceutical General Council in July of 2006 and remained during the rebranding to Community Pharmacy Scotland. In January 2015 Harry was invited and accepted an appointment as Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde (Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences).

Matt Barclay

Director of Operations (Executive Team Member)

Graduated 1999 from Strathclyde University. Matt has worked as a community pharmacist for over ten years gaining considerable experience in various localities. He also qualified as an independent prescriber in 2008. While working in Forth Valley, Matt served for over five years as a community pharmacy practitioner champion.

The DOO role is to lead and manage the day to day operation of Community Pharmacy Scotland, to enable it to deliver a robust, professional and sustainable community pharmacy support service for its members.

The role has budgetary responsibility for all operational areas of Community Pharmacy Scotland as well as an element of policy and development support. Matt also acts as a deputy for the CEO in his absence from the office.
